3 out of 5 stars Steam mop   September 10, 2010
Share (Lumberton, NC USA)
I found the steam mop easy to use, but it did not work up to my expectations. Scuff marks still had to be removed by hand. My floor is white, so maybe I expected too much. I do like the fact that it does sanitize the floor. I still would recommend this item and am happy with my purchase.

5 out of 5 stars floor cleaner super   September 10, 2010
Cari Lindsley (central Wisconsin)
We recently got new laminate and cork flooring and with other remodeling the floors were a mess and the manufacturers sheet said not to use water on them. The chemical cleaner is new to me and also, why buy 'green' and then use clemicals to clean them. We purchased the Eureka 313A. I gave the floors a quick once over with it (quick because I wasn't sure of how much heat the floors could take.) The steamer seems to have sucked up some of the gold glittlery stuff in the cork but it was easy to use, got way into the corners and the floors look and feel cean. We're very satisfied.

4 out of 5 stars SImple easy way to assure cleanliness for my family   September 10, 2010

I'll keep it short because so many other reviews said it so well. We love this steamer. It is hard to get excited about an appliance but this makes short work of tile and hardwood cleaning and that is exciting. It sets up in minutes and works flawlessly every time. We hav had it for over a month now and used it regularly. I read every review on every steamer before buying and the temperature and pattern of steam were my driving factors for purchase. I would have given 5 stars but the cord is as short as everybody said, in fact I have to switch sockets in my great room just to finish that floor. I have a small house 1200 sq. ft. so romm isn't large by any means. That being said I can clean and spot sterilize over 1000 sq ft of tile in less than an hour and it is completely silent. With only about a quart of distilled water, no chemicals and no clean-up or rinsing afterwards the results are amazing. Nice shiny tile with no streaks even in direct sunlight. If you are looking for a floor steamer and your goal is simplicity, and only cleaning hard floors look no further. Please read other reviews, as there are many good comparisons and many options like a carpet attachment or a steam wand, but if you are looking at floor cleaning I read them all and this is the best...!

5 out of 5 stars I love Mine!   September 9, 2010

I have over 1800 sf of tile in our home. It's everywhere but the bedrooms.

I am totally delighted with this machine. I think the people who give it low reviews are expecting more from it than should be. I just moved into this house end of April and had not had time to really scrub the floors like I wanted. I had hand mopped, but not to the point I had wanted.

It took me a very long time to do all the tile, but when I got finished it looked stupendous!

I did have to rinse out the mop heads several times as they filled up, but why wouldn't they that is what I am doing. . .cleaning the floors! I will be buying a couple more Mops heads so I can work faster next time.

I did use a paper towel to wipe up the floor after I used the mop to apply the steamy hot water, but that seems like a no brainer to me. I also used a grout brush for the grout.

No matter what you use it can't perform miracles, you still have to work. It's only a mop. . .

Mine appears to be sturdy and well thought out. Love it!

3 out of 5 stars Not Quite What I was Expecting.   September 8, 2010
The Three Woods (USA proud to be an American)
From all the reviews I had been reading, I expected the most perfect floor steamer for my home. With great enthusiasm, I unpacked my steamer ready to use it as soon as I read through the instructions. I'm a stickler about following the directions to the letter to make sure a product works exactly the way it was designed. Happily, I flipped through the instruction booklet thankful that it was very clear on proper use. My husband assembled the floor steamer for me and we were ready to go. When I first placed it on its floor protector (cooling) pad, I noticed the handle was a little flimsy. My husband checked to make sure it was properly tightened and set it back on the cooling pad. Once it heated up the required minutes, I picked it up to use it. I noticed immediately that it didn't glide so well across our laminate floors. Several times the wand detached from the unit - not so great considering the machine is VERY HOT to the touch once you've let it heat up and I had to carefully reattach it. Thankfully my floors were not ruined despite the warning that the steamer cannot be in place more than 15 seconds. I am not sure if the threading is not right or if it just loosened up because of the difficulty I had using it on our floors. Finally, I gave up and put it back on its cooling pad. It's now in its box ready to ship back to Amazon. After talking with friends, I believe the Shark will be a better buy for my family. It might cost a bit more, but I'd rather get something that would work for my floors. I also would like something with a longer cord. This steamer barely let me do my kitchen with its tiny cord. I had to unplug it and replug it often during use. I did give it 3 stars, however, because while it wasn't the greatest purchase for my floors, it did leave them clean. I would think this type of steamer would be best used on tiled floors.
