Bonaire failure January 30, 2010 Jon This product worked just fine for a little less than two years. I used it for some light tire inflation (bikes, motorcycles, cars) at home. I took very good care of the pump and never ran it for more than a couple of minutes at a time, never pulled it by the hose, etc. The other day the rubber airhose nevertheless failed, right at the base of the pump, where it is permanently clamped to the air outlet. The rubber in the hose had simply degraded, perhaps from vibration or heat. Unless I want to spend a long time trying to jury-rig a repair, I'd say that this baby is finished. Too bad Bon-Aire couldn't have spent a few cents more on better quality rubber.
One-year compressor January 16, 2010 P. Lamson-LaPlume (Maine) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I originally bought this two years ago (January 2008). It worked well even though it felt flimsy. A few days short of its one-year warranty, it died. Bon-Aire was good about sending a new one (provided that I cover the $10 shipping cost) when I called. The replacement arrived and I used it in a similar fashion - inflating an air mattress and inflating my car's tires. I followed the recommendation religiously: allow it to cool down for at least 10 minutes for every 10 minutes of continuous use. Today the replacement died, just about one year after it arrived. I'm done with Bon-Aire and will seek a higher quality product that I can get more than a year's use out of given how little I use it.
I should know better: you get what you pay for.
Mine Broke, Too January 9, 2010 V. Nicholson (Bolingbrook, IL) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I don't write many reviews, but I felt it necessary to write one for this air compressor/inflator. I bought this product so we would have something handy to use when our car tires got low. I would say that we got about 10 uses out of it over the 20 months that we've owned it. Went to fill the tires the other day and just got a hissing noise with no air. Looks like the compressor is bad. This inflator saved us a couple of times, but I would not recommend it. I'm going to look for something more reliable on Amazon.
Unit failed in less than 2 years January 8, 2010 The Rocket (Houston) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I received this air inflator as a gift in May 2008. It works great when it is working. It pumps air pretty quick and I can give 2 to 3 lbs. of air to a tire in less than 30 seconds. I typically use it once a month and handle it with care to avoid over heating by turning the unit off when I am not pumping air to the tire. However, this unit failed on me after 20 months of service. Not very durable when I am only using it on the average of once a month. I don't think I have used it in a way to cause it to over heat either. It just bit the dust. The unit just have a short life span.
Very bad quality January 1, 2010 S. Savrassov (Davis, CA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I got this unit about a year ago, and used it several times until it produced terrible smell and broke. This is my second air compressor that I bought, chinese made. I am so dissapointed that the industry cannot produce a decent air compressor.
